Calf values increase more sharply than lean cattle prices this year
Cepea, September 1st, 2026 CATTLE – Prices for calves and lean cattle (cattle replacement market) are on the rise this year in the Brazilian market. This scenario results from tighter animal supply, with greater retention of females, and consistent demand from backgrounding cattle farmers and finishers. However, calf prices have shown the most significant increase in the period, even surpassing the rise in fed cattle prices
